  • Magna Lime for Municipal / Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants:

Don't let struvite compromise your operations any longer. Choose NutriServe MagnaLime and experience the difference for yourself. The advanced formula of Magna Lime effectively dissolves struvite deposits, preventing their formation and ensuring uninterrupted flow within your system. Not only does NutriServe Magna Lime eliminate struvite, but it also optimizes pH levels and enhances overall system performance.

    Controlling Odor and Corrosion:

In wastewater, sulfides and sulphates can transform into toxic hydrogen sulfides (H2S). Thionic bacteria residing on reinforced concrete structures then convert this H2S into corrosive sulfuric acid, leading to equipment corrosion (which can destroy industrial pumps in just 180 days) and potentially causing sewer vault damage.

The solution lies in introducing Magna Lime at upstream sewer network locations to adjust incoming wastewater pH to 9. Magnesium hydroxide diminishes sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) activity in sewer biofilm by 30–50%, effectively suppressing methane production as well.As a result, there's no release of H2S and methane into the gas phase, eliminating odour at wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and preventing corrosion in the sewer system. With wastewater arriving at WWTPs already pH-adjusted, significant chemical consumption savings of 15–45% are anticipated during biological treatment.

Application of Magna Lime in marine exhaust gas cleaning systems:

Bunker fuel, also known as heavy marine fuel oil, carries a high sulfur content. Upon combustion, this sulfur transforms into sulfur dioxide (SO2). As of January 1, 2020, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Regulations 2020 took effect globally.

These regulations restrict the sulfur content in ship exhaust gases. With many countries prohibiting open-loop scrubbers in their territorial waters, hybrid and closed-loop scrubbers have become the preferred choice. These systems utilize an alkaline water solution to neutralize acidic sulfur oxide gases. To adhere to the regulations and avoid penalties, ship owners have three options: switch to costly low-sulfur fuel, retrofit their ships with engines compatible with natural gas, or continue using high-sulfur fuel while employing methods to clean exhaust gases.

Application of Magna Lime in FLUE GAS DESULPHURIZATION

In the process of Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD), magnesium hydroxide slurry serves as a liquid absorber for acid gases such as SOx, NOx, and HCl in wet scrubber systems. This method finds application in various industries:

-Power plants utilizing coal (for SOx reduction)
    -Metallurgical plants (for SOx reduction)
-Waste incineration plants (addressing a mix of SOx and HCl)
    - Flue gas desulphurization with magnesium hydroxide/CCM is particularly popular in the Asian region, notably in China, Japan, South Korea, and the US.

Unlike the gypsum produced by hydrated lime technology, the byproduct in this case is magnesium sulfate fertilizer.

    1. Natural and eco-friendly, maintaining a low CO2 footprint.
    2. Reliably boosts pH and alkalinity, providing a stable buffering effect.
    3. Effectively precipitates heavy metals.
    4. Decreases phosphates and COD levels.
    5. Mitigates odor and prevents corrosion in water treatment systems.
